"I've had State Farm Insurance for a couple of years now. They insured my cabin in the woods when nobody else would. For me, they insure a handful of cars, both of my homes and an umbrella policy. I must say I love this State Farm agent Lori Emch. She has always gone above and beyond the call of duty. Truly, a professional in a world full of subpar."

"DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY! My husband has been paying this agency for 41 years for his $250,000 universal life policy. He paid $478 per year or $19,598 over that time period. On or around July 25, 2025, he received a notice from the agency stating that this was a NOTICE OF POTENTIAL LAPSE. He called the office immediately and stated emphatically that there must be some mistake as he had paid $845.89 on 6/10/25. We called the office on 6/25/25 and the woman who answered the phone stated clearly that there must have been a mistake, as she showed the account up to date. (See photo of his various phone calls). The State Farm agent, Lori Emch stated that she "had no record of the call.".... today. Well, we do. Whenever we would call her office, the answerer would state that "she's busy" or "she can't take your call." And then we would never receive a return call. Oh, we would get the random birthday cards, but no other communication. On or around 9/22/25, thinking our policy is paid and in good standing, we received another NOTICE OF LIFE INSURANCE LAPSE. Mind you, we never got a phone call, a text, an email...nothing. But this particular letter fired us. If you want to reinstate your policy, you need to make a new application, pay $1,707.92 and you better be in excellent health. The agent had the audacity to ask my husband if he has HIV/AIDS and a sundry of other possible policy cancelling ailments. Ever heard of HIPPA? This was a thinly veiled attempt to get rid of us and our policy. Then she offered, if he indeed was as healthy as he stated, she would increase the bill by 70%. RUN, they no more care about you than a dead animal in the road. 41 years. You would think we were more valuable clients than this catastrophe."
We responded:
"Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. I'm sorry this is the only impression you have and my office will continue to strive for the best service we can give to our customers. It's unfortunate these circumstances were upon us with an underfunded policy, but the policy communications that go out are pre-emptive to prevent a lapse like this. I have addressed the gap that failed to notify us of your lapse in time, I've also addressed your phone call to our office wanting clarification. Like I would with everyone, I attempted to correct the situation with an easy reinstatement, but you declined receiving help stating you didn't need the policy after all and did not want to reinstate. There would be no loss at all if you'd allowed us to help rectify the circumstances. This can be done with a simple questionnaire and a payment to make up for the payments that cover the cost of insurance. I was confident we could get it reinstated within a short period of time. The medical questions that are asked are asked of any life insurance reinstatement. We will continue to strive and improve our processes to avoid setbacks like this in the future. "

"I feel like every time I tried to interact with this office something went wrong. I was switched to this office after my old agent retired, and had had a good experience with my old agent, so I do not think this is related to the global system they use. Four times they sent mail to an address I explicitly asked them not to. This summer they cancelled both of my policies and did not personally tell me even though I had called the office several times during that period and had convos with them. They said it was related to me either cancelling AutoPay (when in fact, I had had an explicit conversation with them that same week about making sure I was still on AutoPay), or an overdraft of my account (which is not possible because I use a backup credit account to ensure that never happens). I was driving around uninsured for A MONTH until I randomly got a letter from them with some refund and called them to figure out what it was for. During this time I also called Lori to give feedback and asked to talk about the issues I had been having, and did not receive a call back. I called the office to try to figure out what had caused the AutoPay issue, and was told they’d call me back. Several hours later, I called again and they said they were “still looking into it.” I never received a call back. Since then I’ve received two pieces of mail about the issue, one a month after I resolved it, and a second two months after, just saying my policy was cancelled. They felt more like covering their bases after the fact than proactive attempts at communication. If Lori were as quick to respond to my calls as she is to these reviews, I might not have switched agents."

"Siri, Your feedback is important to me as I never received a message you wanted a call from me. I apologize we couldn't interact. I do see several notes and history of attempting to reach you to prevent the cancellation of your policy and assure things remained on track. We have an office policy to reach out up to four times so a customer doesn't cancel, and we provide these services as a courtesy to you. I thank you for taking the time to send a message here and I will do what I can to improve the process for those who come after you. Lori "

"I have had an extremely difficult time with this agent/office. It seems that no one is ever in the office because it takes several weeks to get a response for any inquiry. I put in a request to switch to an agent in the front range, and my request was ignored for several weeks until I followed up multiple times. Imagine my surprise when, after I switched to a new agent, I discovered that my homeowner's policy had randomly been cancelled. I would not recommend this office to anyone."

"Jenny, I'm very sorry for your frustration. We did move your policy over in July to your new location - But I have no evidence of a note from you prior to that. Many apologies you were not getting what you needed. We are in the office every day, and I answer the phones personally as well. Not sure why you feel you couldn't reach us, but someone is there five days a week all day long. Thank you for the feedback and I will do what I can to assure this doesn't happen to someone else. As far as your policy cancelling, that has only to do with your payment being received on time or other issue. We would never arbitrarily cancel someone's insurance because they move offices. People switch offices for convenience all the time and we have no problem sending a homeowner to where they request to go. Sorry for your trouble and I promise, I will look into this. Thank you! "

"Everyone at this establishment is so cool! Loved speaking with them! Did have an issue with a woman named Colleen. I mentioned it was my first time getting renters insurance as a 20 yr old, and asked many questions since I’ve never done this before. From the jump, she was extremely condescending and made me feel incompetent for asking questions and making sure my policy was correct. I even had to have my mother in law speak to her so I could get some form of respect from this woman. Didn’t have any issues for the past couple months. My policy ended up being incorrect, as she put my apartment complex as an INSURED party when I made sure to mention a million times that they needed to be an INTERESTED party. I called to cancel my policy, it was more convenient to get insurance through my apartment complex anyways. The woman who initially answered was amazing! Didn’t catch her name, but she rocked! About 15 minutes later, I got a call from Dillon. Answered, thinking she was confirming my policy was cancelled. It was Colleen. She proceeded to tell me to not cancel my insurance because my mother put a note on my file to not cancel it. From the jump, I knew it wasn’t true, my mom would never intervene with anything I’m doing. All my mom would do is give me a quick word of advice and let me make my own decisions ! It’s the fact that a grown woman tried to lie and con me into keeping a 9 dollar policy. My age should never determine the amount of respect I receive, especially when I gave no other reason for her to treat me like this. My curiosity of how to do these things should never result in being lied to due to my lack of knowledge on insurance policies. I know very well, that if a middle aged woman tried to cancel her policy, there would be no games or lying involved. EXTREMELY unprofessional and absolutely ridiculous. Do not recommend having Colleen prepare your policy for you!"

"Short term disability insurance saved my life! This past summer I found myself in a tragic rollerblading accident which resulted in a broken tibia and fibula in my right leg. As most Summit County residents, I struggle to keep up with my bills and had completely neglected enrolling in a high deductible, outrageous monthly payment, health insurance plan. State Farm saved my life. I struggled for the first couple months trying to expedite my disability income check arrival. However, after the initial difficulties i began to receive checks for $1400 per month for the duration of my work release (approx. 8 months). I would be back at home living with my parents if it weren't for State Farm! Thanks Lori. I only wish the claims could be dealt with locally but the ladies in the Silverthorne office have always helped with all my needs. Thank you!"
